Baby Emma || Bluffton Maternity:Newborn Photography

Rayla and I work together...when she mentioned she was interested in doing a birth session...I got a little excited! This was my first delivery I had a chance to photograph, and I think I have found a new love for this type of photography! Baby Emma was set to be a scheduled c-section...SURPRISINGLY they allowed me to be in the operating room when she was born! I was given my little spot and told not to move, haha! I tried very hard not to move too much ;) What an experience...I felt myself getting lost in the moment a few times, and had to remind myself, "don't just watch, take photos!" It was incredible being there...I have had 3 c-sections, so I was familiar with the routine...but being an outsider, and not being the one having a baby was a lot more exciting :) Rayla did wonderful...Wayne was amazing, the two of them make a pretty great team!

Here's a peak into Rayla's GORGEOUS maternity session,as well as the birth AND Emma's sweet newborn shots!!

Thank you for letting me be a part of such an amazing journey!

  1. This is so beautiful. I am wiping tears as I type and I've never been one to be interested in having a photographer for birth, but you really captured the most amazing moments. I had an unplanned c-section, so while I didn't get to hold Connor til hours after he was born, it was most of the same scenery so it made me really tear up thinking back to my own! It definitely made me wish I had pictures of those precious first moments of his life. Carrie, you are seriously amazing in what you do.
