been busy...

It's been quite some time since I've posted anything...I thought it was time to bring an update.

We had our baby! June 27th brought quite a surprise. My mom and brother had arrived the day before, just in time to help welcome baby Gideon Lee.  We had gone shopping that day and then headed to the beach for the evening with the girls...Grandma and Grandpa Friesen...and even Great Grandma Howell were there too.  After about an hour or so, I was walking around and felt a little something interesting, then noticed I may have just wet myself...or my water broke. It was definitely my water breaking, contractions started pretty fast at that point. We dropped everything, packed our stuff up and the girls and headed home to grab our hospital bag (good thing I packed that already!) Thank goodness for Grandparents!! They all went back to our house put the girls down and rushed to the hospital, a wonderful friend came to our rescue and stayed the night with the girls so the grandparents could be with us! By the time we reached the hospital, which was an hour and a half after my water broke, contractions were extremely painful and 1-2 minutes a part! Aaron was so funny to watch! He's not really in to these types of surprises...he dropped me off at the ER door then went to park, then ran back in minutes later without a shirt...the lady behind the desk got a kick out of that. (We both were still in our swim suites, no time to change).  20 minutes later, a lady came to get me with a wheel chair, I'm pretty sure I could have walked faster than she was pushing me!  Anyway, 30 minutes later we were holding baby Gideon and the waiting was over! (I still had a c-section...but at least I had the joy of feeling some labor pains!)

Gideon has been such a sweet baby. 7lb 2oz, 19.5 inches...you forget how little they really are until you're holding them in your arms.  He's a pro at sleeping, even at night. Right now he's on a great schedule for mom and dad to get some rest! He nurses around 1am then goes strait down and is OUT until I wake him at 5:30-6 then put him back down and he's out again until I wake him at 9am! Not bad! I think God knows how much we can handle...and right now, He knows all we can handle is a perfect baby! haha

Life is wonderful with baby number 3...especially because we have so much help all around us! My mom has been awesome...I hope we'll be able to survive without her.

Anyway..meet Gideon Lee Friesen 3 days old
(the Lee is named after my Grandpa Lee, my dad's dad)

  1. So beautiful, such a little blessing born into a wonderful family who will bring him up in the reverence of the Lord. May Gideon never know a day without the love of Jesus. I pray that as he grows, he will come to know Christ as soon as he can understand Christ's sacrifice for him and will ask Jesus into his heart and serve Him all his life. I pray for each Friesen child to be blessed with a like-minded Christian spouse that You are preparing even now. May there be no generations of this family that fails to serve fully and lovingly the One Who loves them most because of our Savior, Jesus, the Promised One ~ Amen!

  2. Very precious Carrie! I also named my 1st child Olivia-Lee, after Grandpa Lee. He had passed away about 2 months before she was born, and come to find out he was pretty excited that he was going to have a great granddaughter! Anyways, precious and congrats! Love Me
